Blackberry losses more enterprise market in the US

Blackberry losses more enterprise market in the US

The ground continues to shake for Blackberry maker Research in Motion.

Blackberry is now joined by Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android powered phones in the list of smartphones offered by the US federal government’s procurement agency, the General Services Administration.

Just this month, drilling giant Halliburton and another US government agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration both announced a switch to iPhone.

The US government has also passed over Blackberry in favor of Google’s Android platform citing preference of its open-source software that can be fully customized to fit military use specifications, reports
CNN.

RIM however, still leads the worldwide enterprise market with growth-boosting profits coming from emerging markets of Indonesia, Latin America and India.

The eroding market share in the US tells a different tale altogether.
